"My work is based on experiences lived in my childhood...
Because of my father’s work, we moved a lot from town to town, during that period I wrapped all
of my precious objects with newspaper. After delving deep into that child’s view that initially was
frightened by change, I realized it was not only change that frightened him, but the concern that
his most precious objects would suffer some damage in the moving.
Hence, my eagerness to wrap in order to preserve what is most loved... as time passed by and I
worked and grew as an artist, I realized it was not only physical damage that worried me. By
wrapping my beloved objects, I was also concealing their identity, protecting what they meant to
me from the eyes of everybody else, it was an intimate secret".
